Nathalie Audrain was born in Lyon in 1977. She lives and works near Paris. She started taking photographs when she was a teenager, mostly of her family and friends who posed for her. Her father is an amateur photographer, specialising in railway photography. She likes to bring out beauty and poetry through people and situations. She is interested in human beings and in the way they interact with their environment. She feels the need to create something beautiful, wanting to remember beauty in case it may disappear. She wants to capture joy lest it escapes her and to seize daily life moments, keeping them by her side for fear that they may vanish the day after. She clings on to them, to their appearances that may seem so trivial, but which are unique, magic and endangered.
